Sexuality of Men and Women: A Comparison
The perceived views of men s and women s sexuality have been the subject of great speculation and conflict. Although great strides have been made over the years in the sexual ââ¬Å"revolutionâ⬠, the basic views of male and female sexuality have remained the same. Throughout history the ideas of proper sexuality for men and women have changed little. Men have always been portrayed as the aggressive pursuer of a womanââ¬â¢s sexual favors. Women, in turn, have been required by society to diligently preserve their honor outside of the marital bed. Andrew Marvellââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"To His Coy Mistressâ⬠offers a good example of the game-like behavior that has become almost expected of a man and woman in society. The narrator beseeches his Lady to ââ¬Å"sport us while we may like amorous birds of preyâ⬠. The Lady on the other hand, flirts casually and spurns the narratorââ¬â¢s advances. Women are praised highly for their virtue and honor in keeping their virginity for the institution of marriage. Even though it is perfectly acceptable for a man to attempt for and even acquire the sexual favors of a woman it is a social sin and in some areas a crime for a woman to succumb to her sexual desires outside of marriage. In Nathaniel Hawthorneââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"The Scarlet Letterâ⬠, Hester Prynne is ostracized by her community for having an extra-marital affair. Her punishment condemns her for her adultery and assures her a lifetime of humiliation. Many societies have gone through great lengths over the centuries to ensure fidelity or virginity in women. In the Middle Ages, women were often forced to wear chastity belts to ensure their virtue was kept intact while men were away at war or some other manly undertaking. In some countries, women are forced to cover every inch of their bodies in an effort to avoid the advances of other men. The narrator in Amy Lowells Patterns speaks of her passion that wars against the stiff brocade of her dress, the very heavy and unrevealing style of the era in which the poem is set. She laments the death of her betrothed as they were to be wed in a month and, as she felt bound by the dress, he was to have freed her from it. This poem also illustrates how the narrator, as many women in the past, did not consider it proper to succumb to her passions before marriage. Men on the other hand have often been revered for their sexual prowess. Kings often kept concubines, or mistresses. In some countries, it is acceptable for a man to have many wives. Sexual conquest has become almost a gauge by which manhood is tested. Men are often bombarded by peer pressure to become sexually active at an early age. Seen as a rite of passage by many men, they begin their pursuit of women before they are even capable of reproduction. In Stevie Smith s The Frog Prince, the narrator speaks of his being happy the way he is but he feels that it is required of him to have a girl. Changing times have allowed people to become a little more open in expressing their sexuality. However, more often than not, most men and women tend to conform themselves to expectations that remain the same even in today s society.

Nursing Home vs. Home Health Care Essay
INTRODUCTION Either young or old, we love our family members dearly, and disabilities does not focus on a specific age group. We would love to feel assured that they are being taken care of the best way possible. As we all know, time does not allow us to take care of them ourselves, with business to tend to of our own, it makes it almost impossible. There are a few options to assist with this matter, but making the best choice is always in our best of interests. NURSING HOMES Nursing homes are facilities that provide high levels of care assisting elders and even young people that are temporarily or permanently disabled. There are several options that you can refer to for payment method. Medicare is an option. Medicare is a national social insurance program, administeredà by the U.S. Federal government since 1966, it is currently using about 30 private insurance companies across the United States. You can also pay through your private insurance company, as well as out of pocket. Within a nursing home facility, they will be assisted with all of their ADLs. (Activities of Daily Living is a term used in healthcare to refer to daily self-care activities within an individual place of residence, in outdoor environments or both.) In this facility, they will interact with their peers, medical professionals, as well as others when visiting. They will have continuous care around the clock including routine vital signs. Vital signs includes the blood pressure, temp erature, heart rate and respirations. With the option of being able to choose a nursing home, there are a few factors in which you might need to consider. One factor is the ratio of CNAââ¬â¢s (Certified Nursing Assistant) to the residents, the ratio might not match the entire time accordingly to state requirements. According to Abbasi and Rudman, medical literature has continued to identify many clinical problems occurring within nursing homes. With this being said, there is a possibility that the patient will not have the required undivided attention that is necessary, because the aide will have several others to tend to as well, the aides time will be limited with each patient, especially if an emergency occurs within the facility. Due to other situations that occur within the nursing home, aides will not have the time to make sure each resident consumes their proper fluids and nutrients which are essential to daily intake. Malnutrition and dehydration are the main issues that affect the patients most of all, because of lack of the proper nourishment and fluids can lead to rapid skin breakdown and a quick decline in the health status. The patient will also be more prone to infections. Depression is an issue the family member will be faced with as well. Being stripped from everything you know is a heart wrenching experience of its own, which can lead to stress that will also affect their health. The wrong medicine given to the wrong resident is another issue. With all the patients that the nurse have to deal with on a daily basis, juggling them can result in such mistakes. Being understaffed can result in a many of mishaps. A majority of these mishaps can be avoided with the proper attention. The more you think about it, one on one attention is very important to ensure the safety andà well-being of your loved ones. HOME HEALTH CARE Another option when it comes to providing care for your loved one is home health care. This option allows the aide to assist your family member within their home. Home health care provides plenty of one on one attention, and allows the aide to focus entirely on the patient and the patientââ¬â¢s needs. This option can also be covered by Medicare, your private insurance company or out of pocket pay as well. The need for home health care is greater than ever. You will be able to choose the healthcare provider, which not only eases the mind of the guardian but it is also affordable, being that you are able to set a wage that is comfortable enough to meet the guardianââ¬â¢s or the relative needing assistance means of income. Who wouldnââ¬â¢t want their relatives to be cared for within the comforts of their own home? This specific kind of care will allow the guardian to feel more at ease. Even the LPN (licensed practical nurse), and RN (registered Nurse) make home visits as well. In this option, they are also assisted with activities of daily living. The one on one attention is the only attention your loved one will receive and is a repeated occurrence versus that of a nursing home. Vitals signs are also checked in this method of care. Another positive factor in this method is that there is a high possibility that the aide can develop a great relationship with the patient, which will allow the patient to feel more comfortable. The personal relationship can benefit the patient and the patientââ¬â¢s family greatly. This can also help the aide to pin point any improvements and odd changes in the patientââ¬â¢s health. Being that they are in a well-known environment, they are more likely to do for themselves more, rather than depending on the assistant they will be provided at a nursing home. Medical literatures has identified that a family member that is allowed to be cared for in the comfort of a familiar environment is less likely to become depressed. The one on one attention will guarantee the proper care for your loved one. Your family member will feel that sense of independence, which helps them emotionally as well as physically. CONCLUSION When it comes to ensuring the well-being of our loved ones, we have to weigh out the positive and negative in order to come up with the best choice possible. One on one attention that can truly assure the proper care that our loved ones need and deserve is definitely a positive factor. Just the idea of knowing that our loved ones are well taken care of is a gift within itself. At the end of the day, it is about family, their health, and how we can keep them in our lives longer. Implementing IT Business Strategy in the Construction Industry
Question: Discuss about theImplementing IT Business Strategy in the Construction Industry. Answer: Introduction Unique digital idea: Designing an application (EasyApp) that would create a digital form for the construction Industry The construction industry utilizes paper forms for timesheets, inventory forms, work orders, audits, and inspections. Filling out these forms is hectic. Besides, employees need to check out these forms to ensure they are accurate and consequently, re-enter the data into the company databases. However, with my EasyApp Forms, work will be easier for employees in the construction industry. With the application, companies in the construction industry design their digital forms which are quicker, smarter, and reduce the amount of time that was initially spent on re-entering data and filling the standard forms. Customers in the construction industry prefer digital reports and the availability of EasyApp helps in digitizing inspections. The application brings numerous benefits to the construction companies. For instance, inspectors using their tablet or smartphone enters data directly regardless the site or location of the construction. The app saves time, eliminates redundant questions, and ensures that crucial information is filled (Huah, 2013: 32). Inspectors can also add pictures, and once the form is filled, it can be emailed directly to the client and the office. The target market is all companies in the construction industry. The idea will be funded by government grants and by soliciting venture-capital investors (Leong, Tan Leong, 2014: 3). Resources involved in the implementation of the idea include office equipment, people with information technology knowledge, finances, and time. The key activities that will convert the idea to an innovation include value creation, implementation, ideation, and collaboration among project team members. List of References Huah, G.B. Religious Consciousness Essays - Salvation, Spirituality, Nirvana
Religious Consciousness My religious consciousness is different from my ordinary consciousness. There are a lot of actions that some people consider to be acceptable and ordinary, but religious people consider to be a sin. There are also certain objects, places, and times of the year that a non-religious person would think of as ordinary, but a some religious people would view as very special. From a Christian viewpoint, a Church is a holy place. It is thought of as the House of God. When I go to Church on Sunday, I find myself in a very religious mood. On another day of the week, Tuesday for example, I might not think of God even once all day long. When I go to Church I am thinking of how grateful I am that God loves me and I thank Him for the opportunity to live in this wonderful world. When I leave Church it is very possible that my religious feelings will slowly fade away. By Tuesday, I might be back to thinking like an average American (non-religious) guy. It would be nice to have something at home to remind me of the thoughts that I was thinking in Church on Sunday. I do have some religious items, but they are not displayed in a place where I see them every day. Christmas is a time of the year when I am thinking about God a lot more often. With all the decorations around the house and the neighborhood, it's hard to forget about Him. I know some non religious people who celebrate Christmas, but they do not think of it as a religious holiday. To them it is just a holiday to be with the family and exchange gifts - they skip all the religious ideas behind it. There are also some actions that might not get a second thought from some people, but that I would feel guilty doing. I would think of these actions as sins. A few examples are lying and stealing. I know some people who might tell a lie every now-and-then. They think that nobody knows the truth except them. I know that I have had that thought cross my mind too. The difference between me and a non-religious person is the fact that I think of how God knows that it would be a lie. I can't keep any secrets from Him, so usually I wouldn't lie. It is the same way for stealing. Taking the Lord's name in vain is another example. I know that there are a lot of people in this country who swear. Whenever I swore in the past, I would have a guilty feeling. Swearing is one bad habit that I found to be pretty easy to overcome. I own some religious objects that I view as sacred. The objects include a Bible, a crucifix, and a rosary. Even though these objects do not have much material value, I consider them to be very important. I treat them with more care than I would for an object that is worth a lot of money. The Bible is God's word and I treat it with a lot of care. The crucifix reminds me of how Jesus died on the cross for me and everyone else so that our sins may be forgiven. A person who isn't Christian might think of it as just two pieces of wood nailed together; an object that they would throw in the trash. People can make any object or place special in an instant. If I didn't have a crucifix, I could cut a cross out an old cardboard box and tack it to my wall. Now I would have a crucifix that I could pray to. The artistic design isn't important. I can see all of the artwork and beautiful images in my imagination when I am thinking about God. To become closer to God, I don't need to buy a lot of expensive religious decorations. Just one crucifix or picture of Jesus is all that is necessary. Once I see that, it will activate my imagination and I will start to think nice thoughts about God, and He will do the rest. Section Three, #7 Indian and Christian religions have different goals. The goal of Christian religions is to go to Heaven. The goal of Indian religions like Buddhism and Hinduism is to attain Nirvana. Heaven is a place. Nirvana is a state of mind. The word Nirvana comes from the root meaning ?to blow
